The new proposed café premises is being converted from the existing pavilion building which will be extended to provide a new conservatory area and public toilets. The building is located in the north west corner of the recreation ground just a few yards of Banstead High Street and is expected to be ready for occupation in 2010

The old pavilion, which no longer meets the needs of the community and has been unused for a number of years, will be remodelled and refurbished to provide a cafe with outdoor seating, public toilet facilities and wheelchair access.
A conservatory will be added to provide additional seating for the cafe at peak times, such as weekends and school holidays, and a new canopy will be built at the pavilion entrance to make it more visible to passers-by on Avenue Road and the High Street.

Playground and landscaping improvements
In addition to the pavilion improvements, the Council is also relocating and improving the children’s playground with funding from its playgrounds improvement budget.
A new multi-use Games Area (MUGA) will be built with funding from the Big Lottery Fund and Surrey County Council and we will be improving the landscaping in the park
